Dr. Doherty has served as an Information Technology specialist for over 27 years at Procter & Gamble’s Corporate Headquarters. He led major projects in the applications of simulation, large-scale mathematical programming, decision analysis, expert systems, and knowledge management. His work spanned R&D, Manufacturing, and Advertising. His recent roles included Chief Scientist, and IT Researcher.

He received the PhD in Computer & Information Science from The Ohio State University, one of the very first to be granted there. Over many years he served as an Adjunct Professor at Xavier University and at the University of Cincinnati. He has chaired PhD committees and is proud of three former students, now professors.

He is available for speaking engagements.  He has given invited presentations at the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Miami University, The University of Chicago, and Stanford.  In addition he provides consulting services.

He and his wife Kathy reside in the Cincinnati suburb of White Oak. They have a daughter pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology, and a son who just received a Business degree in Entrepreneurship.
